Anger is a natural human emotion. However, excessive anger has detrimental effects on physical, emotional, family and social relationships. If you get angry suddenly, it can cause serious death risk like heart disease, high blood pressure, brain hemorrhage or stroke, heart attack.
Let us know how excess anger harms our body –
1. Effects on the heart
When you get angry suddenly, stress hormones like cortisol and adrenaline are released. They quickly constrict blood vessels, obstructing blood flow. Because of this, breathing and blood pressure increases rapidly, pressure on the heart, heart rate becomes irregular. A heart attack occurs due to reduced blood supply to the heart. Excessive anger over a long period of time causes permanent narrowing of the arteries. As a result, the risk of high blood pressure and heart attack increases tenfold. Research shows that angry people have a slower recovery rate.
2. Increases risk of stroke
Anger and stress affect the clotting process of platelets clumping together in blood vessels. As a result, the risk of heart attack and stroke increases.
3. Decreased immunity
Excessive anger puts pressure on nerves, which release certain chemicals responsible for blood vessel inflammation, such as interleukin-6, which weakens the immune system. Unknowingly, angry people reduce the immunity of the body.
4. Stomach problems
Due to excessive anger, the release of stress hormones increases blood flow to the brain rather than the gut and muscles. Diminished blood flow to the stomach causes various problems such as abdominal pain, upset stomach and diarrhea. A major cause of IBD is excessive anger or stress.
5. Mental health
Anger can’t focus on anything. Because of this, bad behavior with others, arguments, sometimes fights also happen. As a result, the relationship between them deteriorates. This increases depression, fatigue, insomnia and even suicide.
6. Addiction
Many people are unable to control their anger and develop bad habits like smoking, drinking, overeating. These later lead to obesity, high blood pressure and heart disease.
7. Fear of accidents
Excessive anger increases the risk of accidents. Because the driver cannot concentrate at this time. He started driving again at excessive speed. Excess anger shortens human lifespan.
Therefore, to be physically and mentally healthy, anger must be controlled. Try to be happy.
