Can You Lend Me Peace?
Hey there! Can you lend me peace?
Oh, I see—you’ll take your fees.
Just tell me now, what’s the cost?
Give me that, and I’ll get lost.
I need a break, a quiet seat;
Take away the noise that strikes me deep.
Where on this earth will I find peace?
What happened here? Where are the trees?
Please, let me breathe some fresh, clean air,
I long to live without this mask.
Just give me peace, I don’t care—
I’ll do any task, just ask.
The hatred everyone now bears,
No one knows the other’s heart.
Yet, nobody truly cares,
Quick to blame, and quick to part.
Where is your God,
Who works for good?
Or where is your science,
To teach what they should.
Byy everyone! I know there’s no peace.
I will simply remove this mask,Â
to get lost in the breeze
that my spirit can roam free…
