I formed from the rain you brought,
Happily nourished the dreams you sought.
Strived to water, as I promised aloud,
A puddle unnoticed by the passing clouds.
Then you recalled your sudden deeds,
Yet you used my waters to grow your seeds.
You could be quenched by many, one, two, three,
Yet I longed to give it to only thee.
I offered my depths to ease the drought,
But you turned away, shut me out.
I lay in waiting, trying to understand,
Watching as your roots reached distant lands.
So bloom, my love, but bloom alone,
Let the sun be yours to call your own.
I’ll wish for you from worlds afar,
But this unity fades like a dying star.
