SELF CARE TIPS FOR BAD DAYS:
Call a friend:
Talking to a friend can help alleviate feelings of loneliness ,stress,and anxiety ,as well as provide a sense of validation and understanding
Have a good cry:
Crying is a natural way for our bodies to release pent up emotions and can act as a cathartic release.
Tune out from the world:
One of the best ways to do this by unplugging from technology and taking a break from social media.constantly being bombarded with notifications and information can be exhausting ,so giving yourself a break from screens can help you reset and recharge.
Go outside:
Stepping outside can help you clear your mind ,lift your mood and provide a much needed chance of scenery.simply breathe in some fresh air ,spending time outdoors an have a positive impact on your mental health.
check-in with our body:
This means taking a moment to pause and assess how your body is feeling .Are you experiencing tension in your muscles?Do you feel fatigued or run down ?By tuning into your body ,you can better address any physical discomfort or pain that may be contributing to your bad day .
Validate what you’re feeling:
It is okay to feel upset,angry,or overwhelmed ,and it is important to give yourself permission to feel the emotions.
Meditation :
Meditation is a powerful tool that can help to quiet the mind ,reduce stress and anxiety ,and promote a sense of well being.
Act like a child:
This does not mean throwing tantrums or being irresponsible ,but rather embracing the carefree ne playful nature that children process.
Enjoy some hugs:
Hugs have been scientifically proven to release oxytocin ,also known as the cuddle hormone which helps reduce stress and promote feelings of happiness and relaxation.
Create something:
Whether it be through art ,writing,music,or even cooking ,express yourself creativity can be great way to release pent up emotions.
Move your body to release:
In moments of frustration or sadness ,taking a walk ,going for a run , or practicing yoga can help clear our minds and release built up tension.
Journal it out:
When we take the time to journal our thoughts during bad days ,we are able to gain a better understanding of what is causing our distress .
