Karthik and Jaya were known for their daring spirit, always on the lookout for excitement in the most unexpected places. One night, they chose to venture into a deserted mansion that was rumored to be haunted.

As they entered the crumbling building, the temperature dropped noticeably. The wooden floors made a creaking sound beneath their steps, and the elegant chandeliers swayed gently, as though moved by an invisible force. Karthik attempted to comfort Jaya with a confident grin, but his eyes showed his own discomfort.

They proceeded to the basement, where tales of a dark ceremony performed years ago were told. The air was heavy with the smell of mold and a more ominous scent. Jaya shivered and held onto Karthik’s arm tightly.

Out of nowhere, they heard a soft whisper. “Get out,” it seemed to say. Karthik raised his phone, the light from the flashlight barely cutting through the overwhelming darkness. Shadows moved across the walls, twisting into terrifying shapes.

Then, they spotted it. A figure, partially decomposed and covered in an unknown substance, stood at the far side of the room. Its eyes were empty, yet they seemed to pierce through Karthik’s very being. He stood still, unable to move, as the figure advanced towards them.

“Run!” Jaya shouted, snapping Karthik out of his daze. They raced up the stairs, but the mansion seemed to stretch on forever. Doors that had been open suddenly slammed shut, leaving them trapped in a labyrinth of fear.

Just when they thought they had found a way out, the figure reappeared, getting closer. Its mouth opened silently, and the walls began to bleed. Karthik grabbed a corroded iron rod, his hands trembling, prepared to protect them.

But Jaya suddenly froze, her face turning pale and her eyes wide with terror. “Karthik, look at your hand,” she whispered. He looked down and saw his hand was dripping with blood, the same thick liquid that was seeping from the walls.

“No,” Karthik muttered, dropping the rod. “This can’t be real.” Yet, as the figure drew nearer, the line between reality and nightmare began to blur. Jaya’s scream filled the mansion, and then there was complete silence.

The following morning, the mansion remained as it had always been, silent and ominous. The locals spoke of the new victims, but no one was brave enough to enter. Karthik and Jaya had become another tragic story in the mansion’s dark past, their souls eternally bound to the place they had dared to conquer.
