In pursuit of success, many delve into countless books searching for the elusive secrets. I, too, embarked on this journey, only to realize that amidst the plethora of advice, attitude reigns supreme. For me, it boiled down to three fundamental principles: patience, positivity, and perseverance. Allow me to share a story that has always served as my beacon of inspiration:
In China, there lived a farmer named Sam. He diligently planted seeds in his farm and tended to them every day. Four long years passed without any sign of growth. His friends mocked him, but Sam remained unfazed, continuing to nurture his crop with unwavering positivity, patience, and perseverance. Then, in the fifth year, a tiny sprout emerged from the earth. Within a mere six weeks, it soared to over 90 feet, leaving everyone astounded. When questioned about his remarkable feat, Sam humbly revealed that he had planted Chinese bamboo seeds, which require five years to strengthen their roots before shooting skyward. This tale epitomizes the power of the 3 P’s—positivity, patience, and perseverance—to overcome adversity.
This narrative has resonated deeply with me, guiding me through the trials and tribulations of my life. During my SSC board exams, despite my diligence, doubts loomed over my chances of securing admission to a prestigious college. Amidst the chaos of leaked papers and the ensuing re-examinations, many faltered, lacking the patience and perseverance to recommit to their studies. Yet, fueled by my unwavering positivity and determination, without wasting even a day, I dove back into my books with renewed vigor. My perseverance paid off, as I secured commendable marks, earning admission to one of Mumbai’s premier colleges.
Another instance that stands out is my job hunt during a recession. I thought I was well prepared but I was not able to perform well in an aptitude test for a renowned company and faced rejection. Disheartened but undeterred, positively and patiently, I started religiously practicing aptitude tests every day, turned to online resources, honed my skills with fervor. Months later, an opportunity arose with another esteemed firm. Test paper was very tough, but I had planned myself properly. Patiently saw entire paper, prioritized the questions and confidently solved them. Though the road was arduous, I kept myself positive. My perseverance eventually led me to secure a position in the company.
Through these experiences, I’ve come to realize that one’s attitude is paramount in the face of adversity. Life’s journey is fraught with obstacles, but by embracing a mindset of positivity, patience, and perseverance, we can navigate through the darkest of times. Icons like Sachin Tendulkar, Amitabh Bachchan too have weathered their share of failures, relying on these very principles to emerge triumphant. Thus, for me, the 3 P’s remained my success sauce. Friends, what is your success sauce ?
