Offlinecity lights & starry nights
the smell of rain in the air
the smell of smoke in my breath
my fingers tuck my hair
behind my ear
inhaling the dust
with every broken piece of me
settling it deep inside of me
hoping it’ll conceal the nightmares,
the burned letters &
the unfulfilled promises of the past.
i click pictures of the sky
every second of the day
so when i lose it all
i’ll have the sky.
i’ll have it when i don’t have myself.
i’ll have the clouds around my fingers
the stars when i cry, they’ll fall in my lap
and
make me fall in love with myself,
all over again.
the sky can do that, not a person, but the sky.
