Evelyn Glennie is a well known practitioner who has mastered the art of using more that 100 musical instruments! you would think that this is common for modern day professionals to be able to do so but that`s where you are wrong. she is completely deaf!
 It all started when she was 11 years old. her mom had took her to her piano practice and when her name was called she didn`t react! that`s when her mom realized that Evelyn wasn`t hearing well. Seeing this her mom took her to the doctor and it turned out that she had lost part of her hearing! She even gradually lost all of it and went completely deaf.
Evelyn Glennie wasn`t your common deaf person, she had no ambition to just sit around and be dragged along. She started practicing music. Instead of trying to hear the music she tried to feel it. She was surprised that she could hear different tones of an instrument in different parts of her body. Slowly she built up her skils and became an inspiration for many.
Even with her towering success she doesn`t have even a hint of arrogance. she gives free concerts at places such as hospitals, orphanages, prisons etc.
This is truly an example of ` when god takes something away from you, he gives back something better`.
