Dwindling lights, what an excuse to deny love right before you
But the early rise of the sun kills the essence of our faltering love
Yet she’s unwilling for she went ahead and lost her eyes, causing fate to fix a match
Why should I act in contempt for that which could not be gained
Or it’s the arrogance or vanity that tries to wilt my heart awayÂ
Worried sick that she wouldn’t be able to see I’m the only one for her
At least summer time feels like the classical not some emotional conundrum
But in case she opens her eyes again let her know I spoke of her just like old times.
Times when her eyes refused to deny me
Smiles even rare left an impart just like a storm
The mist of love was breathtaking and exhilarating
Even the moonlight witnessed our beautyÂ
the rhythmic movement as she matched my paceÂ
Lavender and those exotic Egyptian spices, reminders of the Arab springsÂ
And the moon felt jealous for Khonsu tried to steal our light
But we were never greedy, for that was our aim that moonlit night as we made life by making love
